Lake levels at Hartwell and Thurmond often fluctuate more than at Russell, leading people to believe Russell is always full. At 5 feet, Russell Lake’s conservation storage is considerably less than Hartwell’s, at 35 feet, and Thurmond’s, at 18 feet. Russell Dam was designed after the other two lakes had satisfied the conservation storage needs on the Savannah River and was designed to operate efficiently by minimizing the drawdown or lowering of the lake, thus Russell lake levels are always maintained within 5 feet of full pool (top of the conservation pool). 1. What are the timelines for the project?
- Clearing of the roads are complete and grading will start in December 2007
- Construction on the front entrance will start in February 2008
- Construction of the on site boat storage will start in April 2008
- The on site sales center will open in March 2008, showings can be scheduled right now however
- Construction on the first homes will start in February 2008
2. Do I have to build a home within a certain time frame?
- No, there is not a time requirement. Once you start building however, we would like you to complete the home in 12 months
3. Will there be protective covenants (CC&R's)

4. Will there be builders I can talk to about building a home for me?

5. Can I use my own builder?
