Far from the noise and hustle of the big cities and congested lakes is pristine Lake Russell. On it's shores is Savannah River Club. 325 Home sites anchor this private, gated residential community located in Hart County, Georgia, 90 minutes from Atlanta. Savannah River Club is an upscale primary and second home community with the look and feel of the expensive developments, but without the high price tag.
Lake Russell is situated on the border between Georgia and South Carolina, right below Lake Hartwell. At 26,650 acres it is Georgia's fourth largest lake. Stretching 30 miles from the start below Lake Hartwell to the dam above Lake Strom Thurmond (Clarks Hill) with 540 miles of shoreline, you can spend years navigating the coves, creeks, main channel and islands without ever becoming bored.
Managed by the Corps of Engineers for wildlife preservation, it remains at or near full pool throughout the year. During the worst drought in Georgia's history last year, Lake Russell was down 2.5 feet versus Hartwell being down 14 feet, Lake Lanier down 19 feet and Lake Strom Thurmond down 12 feet.
There is very little boat traffic on Lake Russell making it excellent for no wake skiing and rowing. With little to no boating noise or congestion it is a pleasure to own a home on it's shoreline or go fishing in one of it's many creeks. Lake Russell's depth in front of Savannah River Club's lake lots average 35 feet.
Being managed for wildlife preservation, you will not find another lake more abundant in wildlife. There are more Ospreys per square mile on this lake in the Spring and Summer than any other lake in the nation. Fish species include an abundance of largemouth, spotted and striper bass, crappie, bluegill, shad, bream, carp and catfish. There are currently two marinas on Lake Russell, with a third, larger one being planned for the Richard B. Russell State Park in addition to the installation of a mega ramp.
Designed to be aesthetically pleasing and built to exacting standards, this subdivision will offer amenities unsurpassed in any of the surrounding counties. Walking trails, tennis courts, junior Olympic pool, spray pool , putting green, wildflower meadows, stocked pond, onsite covered boat storage, creek, moonlight bay and many other amenities will make living here a pleasure, and the quality of the lifestyle unique. Our harbor master concierge service is unique. Call ahead to have your boat launched at the boat ramp, and picked up when you're done for the day. None of the hassle that you would have with docks will take away from your pleasure of living in the community.
Home plans will complement the theme of the subdivision with a heavy emphasis on keeping the area as natural as possible by removing the bare minimum of vegetation and trees. You can choose to invest in a lot and wait to build, or have a turnkey solution where one of our builders will build a home of your choice on the lot that you choose. You can be as hands on or hands off in the process as you wish. Call or contact us for information on home plans and available Lake Russell lots.
The layout was designed to preserve as much of the natural beauty of the land as possible, and give you a place to live second to none on Lake Russell.

Activities In the Surrounding Area
If you tire of resting and need to engage in some leisure activity, you are absolutely in the perfect place. Arrowhead Pointe Golf Club and Cateechee Golf Club, two of the premier golf courses in the nation (not just our opinion, they have the credentials to back it up) are within 9 miles of Savannah River Club. The Richard B Russell State Park is only a few miles away for day trips.
Rent a pontoon boat for the day at Beaver Dam Marina, navigate to a quiet cove, beach the boat and swim in Lake Russell's clear water. If you are a ski afficionado Lake Russell has very little boat traffic giving you the opportunity for wake free skiing. If canoeing is your thing, don't forget that the Olympic teams practiced their rowing on Lake Russell at the State Park.
Olympic rowing lanes are still in place because it is a favorite place for rowers to come train. If you want to boat or fish a different lake, a boat ramp on Lake Hartwell is only 4 miles away.
